Ingredients:

1 large bitter gourd, cut in half then cut each half into slices about 0.5cm thick; sprinkle with salt and let stand for about 15 minutes; wash
300g shrimps, peel
2 large pieces taukwa, cut into squares and deep fry
1 cup grated coconut, add 1 cup water and extract 1 cup milk
salt to taste
4 tbsp oil

grind to a fine paste:
10 dried chillies, soak to soften
1 medium sized onion
1 clove garlic


Method:

Heat oil, add ground ingredients and salt and fry till fragrant. Add shrimps and fry for a few minutes. Add taukwa and coconut milk, and bring to the boil. When gravy thickens, add bitter gourd and cook till fairly dry, stirring now and then.
