Ingredients:

600g prawns with shell
1 level tbsp chilli powder
1 level tbsp coriander powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
2 tsp black pepper powder, reduce amount if milder flavour is required
2 sprigs curry leaves
salt to taste
1 cup water
1 big onion, thinly sliced
4 tbsp cooking oil


Method:

  • Put prawns in bowl. Add chilli, coriander, turmeric, black pepper powder, salt, 1 sprig curry leaves and water and leave for 10 minutes.
  • Heat oil, add sliced onion and the other sprig of curry leaves and fry till fragrant. Add marinated prawns and fry stirring now and then, until cooked.
