Ingredients:
salt to taste
½ tbsp sugar
1 tbsp vinegar
100ml water
8 tbsp oil
1 (900g) ikan bawal, clean well, make 2 slashes on each side of the fish and rub with salt
2 red chillies, cut into 2 lengthwise
2 green chillies, cut into 2 lengthwise
2 big onions, slice rather thick
6 medium sized tomatoes, slice rather thick
grind to a fine paste:
10 red chillies
1 onion
1 clove garlic
6 candle nuts
Method:
Deep fry fish till brown, then put aside on a dish. Heat 8 tbsp oil and fry ground ingredients till fragrant. Add salt, sugar, vinegar and cook for a while. Add water, tomatoes, onions and chillies. Cook for a few minutes then pour over fish.
