Ingredients:

450g lean mutton, cut into slices
4 small tomatoes, cut into small cubes
1 medium sized onion, chop
2½ tbsp water
2 tbsp coriander powder
3 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp black pepper powder
3 sprigs coriander leaves, break into pieces
a few mint leaves
10 almonds, scald, remove skin and grind fine
1 stick (4cm long) cinnamon
2 cardamoms
3 cloves
salt to taste
4 tbsp ghee
2 cups water
230g cauliflower, cut into small florets


Method:

  • Combine mutton with all the ingredients, except cauliflower, ghee and 2 cups water in a big bowl.
  • Heat ghee. Put contents of bowl into oil and fry till fragrant. Add water, cover and cook, stirring now and then.
  • When meat is tender, add cauliflower and cook till gravy is fairly thick.
