Ingredients:

230g minced beef or mutton

grind to a fine paste:
4 slices (1cm thick) ginger
3 cloves garlic

3 tbsp meat curry powder
2 cups water
salt to taste
1 small bunch coriander leaves, chop
120g green peas
1 green chilli, slice thinly
2 medium sized potatoes, peel and cut into small cubes
2 medium sized tomatoes, cut into small cubes
1 big onion, cut into small cubes

For frying:
½ onion, slice thinly
3 cardamoms
4 cloves
1 stick (4cm) cinnamon

6 tbsp oil


Method:

  • In a bowl, combine minced meat with ginger-garlic paste, curry powder, salt and ½ cup water from allowance.
  • Heat oil, add ingredients for frying. When onions are brown, add minced meat and fry till fragrant. Add potatoes, stir, then add 1½ cups water and bring to the boil. Cover and continue cooking till potatoes are soft, stirring now and then. Add tomatoes, onion, peas and chilli, cover and cook for 3-5 minutes.
  • When serving, sprinkle with chopped coriander leaves.
